Measure for a Perfect Fit

Getting the dimensions right for your custom MildMate bedding is easier than you think. Let's get started.

Getting Your Bed Ready

For a flawless fit, start with a bare mattress. Remove all sheets and blankets to get an accurate profile. If you plan to use a permanent topper or pad under your new sheet, simply keep it in place while you measure.

The Three Key Dimensions

1. Width (W)

Measure across the mattress at its widest point. For the most reliable fit, measure from one vertical edge to the other, avoiding the corners where seams can sometimes bulge.

2. Length (L)

Measure from head to foot through the longest point. Since many mattress corners are rounded, measuring through the middle area ensures your bedding will have the perfect longitudinal profile.

3. Thickness (Depth)

Measure the vertical edge of your mattress from the top seam straight down to the bottom edge. Be sure to include any toppers or pads that will stay on the bed.

No Tape Measure? Use a Card

If you don't have a tape measure handy, you can use any standard card (like a credit or ID card) for a surprisingly precise reading.

The Easy "Card-to-Blueprint" Method

Don't have a tape measure? No problem. Use any standard card (like a credit or ID card) which is exactly 85.60 mm (3.375 in) long. Simply count how many times the card length covers your mattress edges, or snap a photo of the card next to your measurement point. Send us the count or the photo, and our engineering team will handle the precise unit conversion and dimension drafting for your custom order.
